About Me: Amber Eckert
I am a mental health therapist (LSWAIC) in Washington State providing individual and group therapy (under qualified supervision per Washington Administrative Code).

My background in wilderness, recreation, and play therapy have been formative in how I practice - with ALL ages and stages. I offer meaningful and engaging activities paired with evidence-informed practices. I strongly believe in integrative mental health care, in which all aspects of wellness are taken into account when working to reduce mental health symptoms.

I work hard to live with curiosity, intention, playfulness, and an open mind. These values help me to provide high quality care, while remaining genuine and true. I am a mom, a mountain biker, a goof, a sub-par skier, a backpacker, and a lifelong learner.

Experience:
- Over 15 years of experience serving communities and families in education, recreation, and therapeutic services.
- Significant outdoor leadership and program administration experience, which translates to and supports my therapeutic practice on a daily basis.
- Significant practice in individual therapy, group facilitation, treatment planning, and community development.
- I am a former wilderness therapy guide, recreation therapy director, and residential treatment program manager. This has provided me uniquely rich, intense, and meaningful experience working with teenagers. Much of this experience was with neurodivergent adolescents (Autism, ADHD, Etc.).
- Unique experience in collaborative care settings alongside physicians and psychiatrists has allowed me to gain unique and beneficial experience working with underserved populations such as men and older adults, as well as underserved mental health conditions.
I am trained in: Recreation-Based Interventions, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Behavioral Activation, Integrative Wellness Practices, Parent Coaching, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Skills and Techniques, and Polyvagal Theory.
